The film played at some festivals. We attended a few.

Buffalo Dreams Fantastic Film Festival
Now you might think "Buffalo", "Dreams", and "Fantastic" are words that don't go together and you'd be right.
Yo just kidding man. Buffalo is actually kind of my speed. The festival was run by these two local film guys and started as a genre fest (horror, baby) before expanding. They've now re-branded and it's known by some other name. There were some good films on our program, though they were a bit unpolished. And there was a gigantic premiere for a local feature afterwards but we missed most of that hubbub.
It was pretty unpretentious stuff, so that was nice, but we did do a Q&A afterwards, chatted with some other filmmakers, and did a short TV interview that was very uncomfortable for me. Then a few days later we were awarded "best film in the galaxy" or something. Don't remember the exact category.

Arizona Underground Film Festival
So AZUFF is pretty hands-off, at least through the week when our program played. But the programming itself is top notch. (Also they used my Porky Pig frame, so obviously somebody there rules.)
The two other films that played with ours, Monkey Love, Please Hold and especially The Guitar Thief were very, very well done. It felt quite good to be on a bill with those two films, even though ours stood out in the way you probably don't want your film to stand out.
AZUFF also showed a film called Chicken House, by a filmmaker named Cate Jones.
Chicken House played at Buffalo Dreams as well, and although to the casual viewer the trailer may look a little rickety, I can see that Cate Jones is one of those filmmakers that could make something really great if she had the support.
Miss Jones if you're out there I'd like to meet you and talk to you about your film. I missed you twice. Reach out!

I think Buffalo created an addiction in Megan because she was definitely down to give another Q&A. Q&As are like heroin to that girl.

Anyway, we made a trip of it and got to see the Grand Canyon which was great and Las Vegas which was puke.

Cardiff Mini Film Festival
Cardiff, which is in Wales, allegedly, was the same weekend as AZUFF so we weren't able to attend. That's unfortunate 'cuz it's a cool fest. They take over music venue/club spaces to show blocks of films. I mean I guess there's the whole "cost of a flight" part too. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Cardiff had some of the better designed marketing materials I came across:

SF3
The other festivals are fighting for 2nd place on the marketing materials front, however. I mean honestly:

SF3 is exclusively for films made on a cellphone so BDA performed a little better than average on the awards front there. And when they sent the awards they looked so good I considered fucking framing them. I mean honestly, how vainglorious would that be? I am vain. And I am glorious. But both? Fuck outta here.
Yeah anyway they look really great and SF3 is run by a really cool woman named Angela Blake.
